MotorCycle Gallery
In this gallery you can see the museum’s fantastic collection of motorcycles.
Many Coventry car makers like Humber, Rover and Hillman made motorcycles, but the city’s most famous manufacturers were Triumph and Rudge. In the city there were also smaller but well respected motorcycle manufacturers like Francis Barnett and Lea Francis. In the gallery you can see bikes made by all of these companies.

Two fascinating bikes on display are a Triumph Tiger 100 on which Ted Simon took an epic journey around the world in 1973 and a 500cc Rudge motorcycle and sidecar on which Stanley Glanfield completed a similar journey in 1927.
The gallery also displays images and film which highlight the motorcycle’s iconic status in popular culture.
Most of the machines on display are Coventry built by prominent manufacturers such as Triumph, Francis-Barnett and Rudge.
Other non-Coventry manufacturers are also represented including Norton and BSA.
