What's On

From family STEAM learning to interactive exhibitions. There's something for everyone.

MUSEUM CLOSED

As part of Coventry Transport Museum's £8.5m Redevelopment project, funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, ERDF, Biffa Award and the Garfield Weston Foundation, the museum will be closed to the public for two weeks from Monday 23 Feb to Sunday 8 March 2015, inclusive.

This project, which started in March 2014 and is due for completion in June 2015, is transforming and re-energising the museum, enabling us to tell the story of our City's proud motoring heritage in a world-class, innovative new way.

The museum is open throughout the majority of the Redevelopment period, although understandably, some areas of the building are closed to the public whilst they are being worked on, and there are a small number of complete closures, of which this is the second.

We are working hard to keep these closures to a minimum, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Find out more about our ambitious Redevelopment project.

While we are closed, we recommend:

* Our coffee shop Esquires will remain OPEN throughout this period, serving up their usual delicious range of hot and cold drinks, cakes and sandwiches.

* Pay a visit to the nearby Herbert Art Gallery & Museum - admission is FREE and the museum tells the fascinating story of Coventry's history, from Medieval times to the present day.  The museum is also home to a world-class art collection, and during this period the Herbert has two special temporary exhibitions: Recording Britain (from the Victoria and Albert Museum, London) and New Art West Midlands, which showcases artwork from some of the region's most talented art graduates.

* Explore the excavated remains of Coventry's first Cathedral and walks in the footsteps of Lady Godiva, at the Priory Visitor Centre.  Just two minutes' walk from Coventry Transport Museum, admission is FREE, with guided tours of the excavations priced at just £2.50 per person.
