Schools
The Museum's extensive galleries provide the perfect learning environment for students of all ages. The collection illustrates the evolution and social history of road transport and supports many curriculum areas including History, Citizenship, Maths, Art & Design, Design & Technology, Science, English, ITC and Drama. Our Learning Development Officers are able to support learning activities at all levels, ages and abilities. We also offer tactile and multi-sensory experiences for SEN groups.
Please explore our Education Pack to find out more about the range of Museum-led & Self-Led sessions we offer. Popular sessions include our Second World War, Victorian Britain and Transport themed sessions. Lesson plans, including learning objectives, are available for all our sessions upon request. We can cater for school groups of all sizes and ages, with costs for our sessions starting at £1 per learner. We also offer a Tactile Tour which gives a more sensory experience for learners with disabilities and special educational needs.
Visiting school groups can make the most of our lunch rooms and enjoy a free ride on our Thrust SSC Simulator ride with every schools session booked. Please see our Education Pack for details of how to book.
