PROMETHEUS Vehicles to go on display

11 July 2012

Two very special vehicles that were built for, and feature in, Ridley Scott’s current film PROMETHEUS are to go on display at Coventry Transport Museum, from this Saturday 14th July for several months.

The enormous Prometheus RT01 group transport vehicle, and smaller EX01 two-person transport vehicle are two of a number of vehicles that feature in the film, which is a prequel to the Alien movies and is currently in cinemas - and staff at the Transport Museum are thrilled to have acquired them for the public to come and enjoy.

The vehicles were made in the UK for Pinewood Studies, are both driveable, and were driven off a low-loader into the Museum, when they arrived in Coventry earlier this week.

Gary Hall, Chief Executive at Coventry Transport Museum said of the acquisition:

“We are absolutely over the moon to have been given these two incredible vehicles – it is very unusual for film studios to allow vehicles from major motion pictures to go on display.  This is therefore a huge coup for us as a Museum, and we are extremely privileged to be able to give the public a chance to get up close and personal with the actual vehicles that they have seen on the big screen in Prometheus.”

Visitors to the Museum will be able to see the two vehicles in the Commercial Vehicle gallery from Saturday 14th July onwards.

Admission is free of charge.
