Get creative by upcycling waste materials into new inventions in our Junk Modelling Maker Challenge. Suitable for all ages, this drop-in event is included in normal museum entry.

18 - 25 February | £4.50 per child | Book in advance

Our open environment invites families to explore in their own way, using real tools to construct, deconstruct and adapt everyday items and learn how things work. In half-term, we're focusing on alternative energy sources, designing new solar-, wind- and water-powered vehicles. Tickets include entry to the rest of the museum so there are no hidden costs on the day, and under 3s go free. Book now.

Go undercover and test your detective skills with the Montgomery Bonbon: Museum Mystery Trail, created by Kids in Museums and Walker Books. The trail celebrates the release of Montgomery Bonbon: Murder at the Museum, written by comedian Alasdair Beckett-King and illustrated by Claire Powell. Find out more.
