An exciting FREE, family friendly and engaging day featuring the emergency services of Fire, Police, Ambulance, RNLI and Air Ambulance. You can learn about what it takes to become a qualified emergency services operative, enjoy the selection of vehicles on display and see what they can do!
• Sit in a real fire engine and try the Blues and Twos sirens
• Try on and experience the 360 virtual reality headset videos from the Fire Service and Police Force (suitable for 16+)
• Get your bicycle repaired and security coded
• Learn about visibility from a truck driver’s view by sitting in an articulated truck cab and try to spot the cut out cyclists behind you
• Meet a beautiful Medical Alert Dog called Shirley and her owner Claire, who relies on her dog to help her in medical emergencies
• Meet amateur radio enthusiasts who will be broadcasting to other radio hams across the world… you can try too
• Hear the West Midlands Police Brass Band playing between 11am and 1pm
• Try your hand at first aid techniques led by the Coventry and Warwickshire Air Ambulance Team
• Sit in a real police car and set off the sirens and lights
• Talk to Crime Prevention Officers on how best to protect yourself and your home
• Meet members of the RNLI and learn about safety when swimming in the sea and open water
• Baby and Child First Aid sessions
All this plus a display of classic Police vehicles from the The Blue Light Vehicle Preservation Group:
