Celebrate your child’s birthday through the joy of play as party goers explore engineering and creative problem-solving in a relaxed, open-ended play environment.
Your Super STEM Play Party includes:
Admission to the museum
Exclusive use of a party food room and a PlayHEM party room (for 2 hours)
At least one learning team member to support you on the day
All materials for the activities
Bunting and STEM-themed signs for decorations
Access to music
Optional 4D stimulator experience, party bags and party food (additional cost, please see below)
Party Themes:
Mini Museum Engineers Party (Ages 1–5)
A mix of big stuff such as crates, tires, pipes and den building materials as well as small playthings that incorporate dress-up, small world play and transport related objects will prompt a playful exploration of everyday STEM concepts.
Tinker–Make–Play Party (Ages 5+)
Develop an understanding of how and when tools are used safely to tinker on everyday items and make something new with various tools and materials. Den-building material, small construction sets or ramps and tracks are also provided in the space.
Please note: Parental supervision required when using tools.
Party Room Hire (Ages 3-21)
Our versatile party room provides a safe and comfortable environment for bespoke parties. The party room comes with tables, chairs and one station for playful activities. You are welcome to bring your own food, decorations and party supplies to personalise the space.
Optional Offers:
- 4D Land Speed Record Simulator: £2 per person
- Party food boxes: £4.95 per child (birthday cake not included)
Each food bag includes:
Half a buttered bloomer sandwich with Ham/Cheese/Jam, Ribena, Pom Bears and Fruit
- Party bags - £3, £5 or £8 per child depending on content of bags (pictured below, left to right)

Is there nearby parking available for the party family?
Yes, we can provide one parking space for the party family in our museum car park to bring party related items to the museum. Please indicate your need for one space on the booking form.
Can parents stay with their children?
Yes. We encourage parents to stay with their children as long as the maximum number of guests does not exceed the room capacity 80 for a party.
We would love to have a tour around the museum. Is this possible?
While not a set item on a birthday agenda, sometimes children are really interested in seeing our museum collection. Depending on time and staff capacity, we can offer a short tour around some parts of the museum to find favourite vehicles. To make this the most meaningful to your child, let us know their interests beforehand and we can adapt our playful tour accordingly.
