Learning

Coventry Transport Museum makes the perfect learning environment for school visits.

Choose Your Way to Learn

The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Coventry Transport Museum and the Lunt Roman Fort are available for onsite, facilitated school visits. We are also accepting self-led visits again to both the Herbert and Coventry Transport Museum. Our Learning Team have worked hard to adapt our educational programme to ensure we can offer you high quality and exciting activities, whilst maintaining certain measures to provide a safe environment for you, your pupils and our staff.

We kindly ask that supervising adults continue to wear a face mask when indoors with our team, and we will continue to wear face shields when delivering sessions to your pupils. We will also continue to disinfect handling objects in-between visiting groups to stop the spread of germs.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch via info@culturecoventry.com

Virtual Learning

We also have a virtual schools offer, enabling us to bring our activities direct to your school through online media: www.coventrymuseums.org.uk

The virtual offer will also further enhance your onsite learning and support pre and post visit activities.

Learning Outside the Classroom

Coventry Transport Museum is a great place to learn new things and enjoy new experiences, whether you come with your family or with your school or college.

Our dedicated Learning Team deliver engaging sessions for pupils of all ages. The Museum is an ideal setting for learning outside the classroom and our hands-on sessions cover a wide range of curriculum areas.

The Museum is also a perfect place for a family day out. Our school holiday programmes provide imaginative activities for families to enjoy together, including craft activities and quiz trails for a small charge.

Coventry Transport Museum is pleased to be a Children’s University learning destination.

Culture Coventry is proud to be working in partnership with schools and settings on their Artsmark Award journey. By supporting Artsmark settings, we’re helping put the arts at the heart of education, inspiring young people to create, experience and participate in high quality arts and culture.

Our programme includes exhibitions, creative workshops for students and CPD and networking for teachers.

Key stage 1 and 2 pupils can take part in Discover in a Day during a joint visit to Coventry Transport Museum and the Herbert Art Gallery. Our trained Arts Award advisors will assess your students’ work and submit them for their Discover Arts Awards.
