Mini Museum Engineers - STEM Play for families with children aged 2-5
At a loss of what to do with your little ones during the Summer? Come and join our Mini Museum Engineers play sessions and see your children’s confidence soar when they play and explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) concepts with loose parts in our museum.

Includes free admission to the museum for the day
Designed for ages 1 - 5, but all are welcome
Upcoming Themes:
Thursday 29 July – What goes up must come down. Play with runs, ramps, wheels, hoops, and balls. Experimenting is strongly recommended.
Tuesday 10 August – Trunki’s on tour. Our Trunki’s are usually found at reception but today we are taking them out on a special tour to one of their favourite places in the museum. Can we find out where this will be just by looking at what the Trunki’s hold inside?
Thursday 26 August – Fizz, pop, bang! Science experiments in action. Caution! Mess and lots of noise expected.
What you need:
- At least one very supportive grown-up. We know from experience that all mums, dads, uncles, aunties, older siblings, grandparents, carers are perfectly qualified for this role as no previous engineering experience is needed. (They are very good at handing stuff to you though.)
What you will get:
- Opportunity to be introduced to the world of engineering in a playful way!
- A safe space for children to play and explore. We love to see children take charge of their play (and learning) and we are proud to provide this space for our Mini Museum Engineers.
- Expertise! Our amazing experts from the Learning Team will encourage you throughout. They are experts in playful engineering. That means they are curious, they persevere, are imaginative, love solving problems and teamwork. They will happily offer their expertise and support you when needed.
