How do vehicles move so quickly? Explore friction and air resistance in the context of our Land Speed Gallery. Take part in scientific experiments to understand these principles and listen to short talks about the World’s fastest car – the Thrust SSC.
· Materials (suitable for ages 5-11years)

· Our Future Gallery – Open ended play consultation (suitable for all ages)
We are working on some big things, and we want you to be involved from the very start. We invite you and your family to join us in this relaxed workshop and shape the future of our family offer by simply having a CHAT with us while spending time playing, making (and learning) through open-ended experiences with your family.
· Sensory Stories and Rhymes (suitable for 0-7 years)
Immerse younger minds with transport themed nursery rhymes, through sensory experiences. Each child will receive a sensory bag to gets hands-on with as we share singing and movement activities, helping to keep them engaged for the duration of the session; adding context by using a physical object to give words meaning; extending learning through play and increases their opportunities to develop good listening and language skills.
In addition, we will also be hosting activities from:
- University of Warwick - Stitch in Time workshop, engineering demonstrations and opportunities to come face to face with university academics.
- Coventry University - Explore an interactive micro-museum dedicated to Coventry inventor, Frederick Lanchester.
- Coventry Archives - Discover what is available to you to support your home educator journey and child’s research.
Please note that the activities will be run throughout the day on a first-come, first-serve basis, and have a maximum group size of 25 people.
