Thrust SSC: Celebrating the Land Speed Record

Join us for a celebration of Thrust SSC ahead of the 25th anniversary of its record-breaking drive

On 15 October 1997, the Thrust SuperSonic Car became the first land vehicle to break the sound barrier. The car is now one of the highlights of our collection, situated within our Land Speed Gallery, alongside Thrust2 and Bloodhound SSC.

Ahead of the 25th anniversary of this major occasion, we're excited to be welcoming members of the Thrust SSC team (including Richard Noble OBE) to the museum to celebrate the legacy of this amazing vehicle, as part of a day of Thrust-themed activities. Find out more about what's coming up below!
