Car lovers rejoice at Breakfast Club

25 April 2019

Car lovers in Coventry show their excitement as a popular club rolls back into town after a lengthy absence.

Resident transport enthusiasts were out in full force as Coventry Transport Museum hosted its first Breakfast Club since last autumn.

A 70-strong assembly of classic cars lined up on Millennium Place outside the museum, bringing together knowledge from car owners and enthusiasts alike.

April’s gathering marked the first Breakfast Club since October 2018, and organisers are very excited for future events, following its popular return.

A range of British cars in attendance, including a 1927 Rolls Royce Springfield Phantom, a 1935 Austin Limousine, and a number of classic TVRs, Daimlers, Jaguars and Lotuses.

A pair of 1960s Volkswagen Beetles also featured, as well as other coveted vehicles from across Europe, Japan, and the USA.

Enthusiasts traded tips and shared stories of their prized possessions over coffee and pastries courtesy of event sponsors, mCreat.

The monthly meetings are being organised and managed by Ace Parade Ultimate Driving Experiences and Clive Parker-Skelhon, owner of Bish Bosh PR, who originally introduced the Breakfast Club back in 2012.

The next Coventry Transport Museum Breakfast Club will take place on Saturday, May 18 at 8.30am, with more meetings scheduled on June 8, July 13, September 21, and October 19.

Ruark Jon-Stevens, Marketing and Communications Manager of Culture Coventry, said: “The Breakfast Club is a fantastic way to celebrate the city’s automotive heritage and gives people an opportunity to showcase their beloved vehicles with our visitors.

It is essential to book your vehicle onto Millennium Place for the next Coventry Transport Museum Breakfast Club. If you would like to take part, please contact info@culturecoventry.com.
