Celebrate British Science Week 2023 with a host of activities exploring this year’s theme of connections.

British Science Week is a 10-day programme (10-19 March 2023) of thousands of events running throughout the UK, aiming to celebrate learning and break down stereotypes surrounding science, engineering, technology and maths.
Throughout the month of March, our family programme will be dedicated to encouraging families to enjoy STEM-based activities. From British Science Week trails and activity packs, to dedicated sessions for our youngest scientists, there's something for everyone to enjoy. 1-31 March | British Science Week trail and activity packs
Drop in any time to pick up an activity pack and follow our British Science Week trail, created to explore the theme of connection within our museum collections. Collect from reception for £1.50 per pack.
Our Mini Museum Engineers will be Mini Museum Scientists for this month. Join our connections-inspired play sessions and give your little ones a chance to explore an open-ended play environment using unique resources. Our STEM-based learning approach is designed to encourage early engineering skills, problem-solving and imagination in eve our youngest visitors. Aimed at ages 1-5.
10.30am - 12.30pm, £2.50 per child
This play and consultation session will be linked to our British Science Week celebration. Play with our unique resources in a relaxed environment where connections are not just a theme but a reality. Hot drinks are available for parents in this session as a thank you for sharing your feedback and thoughts.
10.30am - 12.30pm & 1.30pm - 3.30pm, £2.50 per child
This month's Saturday Play Day will explore the British Science Week theme of Connections through a variety of science-based activities for all ages, ensuring there is something on offer to suit all ages, abilities and interests.
